Maria Callas: "E strano, e strano...Follie, follie...Sempre Libera". La Traviata de G. Verdi
"E strano, e strano...Follie! follie...Sempre libera". Maria Callas sings "Casta Diva" (Bellini: Norma, Act 1)
The great Maria Callas performs an aria from her signature role, Bellini's druid priestess Norma, with the Orchestre de l'Opera National de Paris and Georges Sebastian. Recorded live at the Palais Garnier on the 19th of December 1958, this concert marked the soprano's debut at the Paris Opera, a major social event for Parisians and for which Callas donned her most elegant couture and a million dollars' worth of jewelry. Judy Garland & Gene Kelly - Ballin' the Jack
This song & dance number is a great period piece from the golden age of Vaudeville just before World War I. The footage comes from For Me and My Gal (MGM, 1942), the first film Judy and Gene made together. The song was originally written in 1913 by Jim Burris (words) and Chris Smith (music).

Judy Garland - Tony Bennett - I Left My Heart In San Francisco
July 30, 1963: Videotaping of "Episode Five" of "The Judy Garland Show" at CBS Television City, Stage 43, Hollywood. Judy's guests for this episode were Tony Bennett and Dick Shawn. Judy's songs: "If Love Were All" (cut before the broadcast but the footage still exists); "Yes, Indeed" (with Bennett and Shawn); "Garland-Bennett Medley" (including a duet on "I Left My Heart In San Francisco"); "My Buddy" (with Shawn); and in the "Born In A Trunk" segment: "Stormy Weather" preceded by her story about a moth flying into her mouth while on stage at the Greek Theater; and "I Will Come Back." Judy also taped a chat with series regular Jerry Van Dyke before his duet with Shawn, but the chatting was cut. The "Tea For Two" segment taped the day before (July 29th) with Steve Allen was also deleted because it was such a success that it was decided to have him as an actual guest on a future episode and not just a cameo. The show aired on December 15, 1963.
