BIOGRAPHY

We don't know much about him, only that Harald Bauernschmidt lived in Nuremberg from 1959 to 1993. He took his own life with his cats at exactly the same age that his father died.

 

Harald worked for many years as an advertising assistant at KARSTADT, where I was able to get to know him and accompany him for a few years.

We traveled to Amsterdam together, he inoculated me with his taste in music, inspired and scared me. He created masterpieces and destroyed them again. One of his passions was Maria Callas. 

​

Unfortunately, our ways parted again shortly before his death, Harald was morbidly depressed. I last met him at his staged funeral at the Südfriedhof in Nuremberg.
